Little Miss Funny Turned Little Miss Crazy

All That. The Amanda Show. Big Fat Liar. What A Girl Wants. What I Like About You. She's The Man. Sydney White. Easy A. I grew up with Amanda Bynes, watching her in shows and movies and laughing at how kooky hilarious she is. Which makes it even harder to see her turn a bit cray-cray. Hard to blame her though, we see this all the time; Britney, Lindsay, and so on. We all wish for fame, but it seems that growing up in the business can really take a toll on a person. Even someone who seemed to have it all together. In the last couple of years she's had two hit-and-runs and a DUI as well as being known to post some crazy shiz on her Twitter account. Recently she's pierced her cheeks, got super tan, and is packing on the make-up. Now I'm all for being who you are and  I love piercings and tattoos, but it all seems a bit much to me and way out of character. She's almost 27, it's not like she grew up and changed AS she grew, like Miley Cyrus. No, this is a legit adult who seems to be having a mid-twenties crisis.

Bynes hasn't been in a movie or a television show in almost three years, Easy A being the last film she did in which she didn't even star. Here's to hoping she gets the help she so obviously needs and is able to work again. I miss her random and quirky sense of humor.

Love,
Elle Marie

Video OTW: Yes, This is REAL, and it is AWESOME

The Video of the Week is:

Epic and Honest
Mobile Home
Commercial

This is one hundred percent real folks! It's so freakin' funny, totally random, and really seems like it's fake. But I promise you, it is not fake at all!

Here's the deal-- anyone can nominate a local business, including small business owners themselves. If that business is chosen, then two guys named Rhett & Link will go to wherever that business is located, and make a (funny) commercial for them. This program is supported by MicroBilt Corporation, and they want to help smaller businesses build profit. Isn't that super nice?! Check out the website http://ilovelocalcommercials.com for more commercials and to learn about Rhett & Link and how they're helping out many local businesses.

10 Things I Love About 10 Things!

image via www.abcfamily.com

1. It's LOL comedy! "Cameron, this seat has your name on it... actually... it says deez nutz"

2. Cute adorable boys. Uh duh, uber tall Cameron is so beyond cute. And Joey, who is so dumb, it's adorable.

3. Even though it's on season two, it's still taking place during the same school year as last season. Which means, the show will be able to last longer in High School.

4. It's not a kids show. Okay, I'm sure lots of teenagers watch it, but it's not an average "kids show". It's high school in 2010. And even though I graduated in 2006, I'm sure not much has changed. Maybe they're even naughtier than my classmates, but if that's the case, they would have to be pretty effing dirty. haha.

5. Good actors! They're all pretty young, and it is an ABC original t.v. show, so the fact that they have good dramatic acting and awesome comedic timing is really quite impressive.

6. So, freaking, relatable. I say this a lot when I review books or movies, and there's a reason why it's important. When it comes to a certain genre of entertainment, I want to feel like I can relate to certain characters, or feel the way they do, or want to be just like them. I'm not talking about movies like, the recently reviewed by my awesome self, Repo Men, for example. Those are movies I go to wanting to explore another world and see some badass action. But when I read chic lit books, or watch romantic comedies, I want to relate to it some way or form. And I can say, though my peers weren't as good looking, the show is almost just like High School.

7. The family dynamic. You can see the love they all have for one another just oozing out of their pores. Okay, that sounded disgusting, but you know what I mean. Even though Kat and Bianca fight, it's obvious they love each other. The writers don't ever take it to an extreme. Also, the way their dad treats them, yes a little crazy, but he's raising them both all on his own, so it's understandable.

8. Chemistry. The whole cast makes their relationships with one another totally believable. It's called great chemistry. If any of them don't get along of set, I'd be super surprised.

9. Bianca and Kat's dad on the t.v. show is the same dad from the movie. I think that is really neat.

10. They didn't ruin the movie at all! It has the same characters, but with little twists. I've read that Kat isn't a virgin on the show, but I highly doubt she lost it to Joey, like she did in the movie. Joey is a douche in the movie, but just an airhead on the show. Cameron still loves Bianca, like the movie. And hopefully, eventually, they'll end up together. Kat is still hardcore. She ends up together with Patrick, but not in the same way as the movie. Chasity is a beotch in both show and movie, but has a way bigger part on the show. 10 Things I Hate About You, to it's core, isthe same, but just the right amount of different. I'm not sure if that made any sense, but my point is... they did not ruin the movie! And the show rocks!

PS I am officially in love with Nicholas Braun (Cameron) and I can say that without being gross, because he is 21 years old. Yup. 21!!! Holla!!

Kick-Ass

After watching the preview for Kick Ass on television, most people write it off as another spoof about superheroes. I know I did. But after watching the red band trailer, it's obvious Kick-Ass is nothing like "Superhero Movie" or any other lame spoof. This movie is action first, comedy second. I'm not saying that this movie isn't funny, because it really is, and perfect comedic timing by the whole cast. But the action was freakin' incredible. Everyone was fully convincing in their characters, especially Mindy- aka - Hit Girl, who kicked the most ass out of any of the superheroes. And Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) was so awesome! Another actor I'm not a huge fan of that really impressed me, (like Jude Law in Repo Men).

Kick-Ass may be the main hero, but he is such a pus*y. That's saying a lot because I hate that word, and rarely ever use it! But I think that's what made him so great and likable, and, even, slightly realistic. Mindy was trained to be a bad-ass, so it's understandable why she's so good at killing. Even though Kick-Ass has some sweet moves, it never seemed like he knew what he was doing, because he never really did.

I love action movies that literally have you on the edge of your seat during the fighting scenes. This movie almost had me falling over in awe and suspense. There's a lot of blood, but just like Repo Men, it's the kind of blood, killing, and violence I dig. It doesn't really gross me out, but makes me say "Oh sh*t!" and "hell yea!".

I watch a heck of a lot of movies and recently I have not been disappointed. Kick-Ass is another must see! It's not a spoof. It's not PG 13. It IS NOT a kids movie!

PS. I read that it's actually a real comic! (Don't hate because I didn't know that prior to watching the movie!).

Here's the red band trailer featuring Hit Girl. It's some of my favorite scene's from the movie!

The original JoBros.

Thinking 'Bout Somethin'

video via www.myspace.com

If this is how the Jonas Brothers turn out, then hells yea. Because just like the JoBros, Hanson was so pop and industry when they started out. And by industry, I mean, the industry forces them to sing like chipmunks and perform lame ass songs. Remember Mmmbop? Well, their music has grown up, just like them. And I like it! This song is really good, the lyrics are great, and this music video is too freakin' cute! It's fun, out there, and so entertaining. Plus, there's an appearance from Weird Al playing the tambourine. Not his biggest fan, but he does make me laugh in this video. Enjoy!

Glee-tastic!

Who doesn't love Glee? If you've watched even one episode, you know how amazingly great it is. Funny, creative, emotional, and so much more! It's been FOREVER (or so it feels like) since they took their break.

But, if you're obsessed like me, you know that they come back tomorrow with a brand new episode! I cannot wait to hear Rachel belt out some tunes and to see Finn on my t.v. screen so I can drool at his yumminess. (Can you believe he's 27 years old?). I'm sure after I watch the episode tomorrow I'll have to blog all about it. I love me some entertaining t.v. shows. And this is one of the most entertaining of them all!!!

There's so much to look forward to in the rest of this season. Neil Patrick Harris, Madonna music (hopefully it'll be mostly 80's and early 90's, because her "current" music blows), Lady GaGa music, Lady GaGa OUTFITS (have you seen the photos floating around the web? Hilarious!), Olivia Newton John, Molly Shannon (hey, she's funny!), more Will and Emma romance, and some great vocal, comedic, and dramatic performances!!!

You all know you're just as excited as me! Don't hate ;)
